I am Alberto Ferrer, a general health psychologist and social integrator, specialised in psychotherapy for young people and adults.

I was born in Barcelona in 1990, the city where I grew up and grew up. During my adolescence, I began to collaborate in different volunteer work in Barcelona, where I provided emotional support to users of various services, including people with disabilities, drug addiction problems, and people without resources. From that moment on, I knew that I wanted to dedicate myself to helping people who were suffering.

I started my studies in the social field at the age of 18 and went from being a volunteer to working in large foundations and city councils. As time went by, I began to delve deeper into the workings of the human psyche and decided to study psychology at the Ramon Llull University in Barcelona. It was then that I discovered my true passion: to understand people and offer them tools so that they can make decisions more freely and live more serenely, despite the various situations they may face in life.

My training as a psychologist did not end with my degree, but I specialised in different fields such as anxiety, addictions, trauma, depression and psychopathology.

In 2019, after gaining experience as a psychologist in Barcelona, I decided to move to Australia, where I lived for three years. In this country, I not only improved my English to be able to conduct therapy in this language, but I also experienced working in another culture and enriching my skills as a psychotherapist.

On a personal level, I consider myself a person with a great capacity for learning and empathy. I am an active person who enjoys spending my free time learning new knowledge and creating new experiences, whether it be travelling or attending various events. I highly value taking care of my social relationships and the importance of maintaining a healthy social circle with which I can feel accompanied throughout this journey.

To conclude, I would like to quote the famous psychologist and psychoanalyst Karen Horney: “If we remove the obstacles, any person will develop into a fulfilled adult”. This quote perfectly sums up our mission as psychotherapists: to help people overcome their barriers so that they can reach their full potential.
