Intensive Addiction Treatment

(Special focus on cocaine use)

The Addiction Treatment Intensive is designed for people who wish to address in a direct, deep and structured way their relationship with substance use, especially in cases of problematic cocaine use. It is a concentrated intervention that combines clinical rigor and experiential approach, allowing to explore not only the addictive behavior, but also its emotional, relational and existential background.

The therapeutic process is guided by specialized psychologists, with the support of professionals in corporal and creative expression, and focuses on understanding the psychic functions of consumption: emotional anesthesia, disconnection, self-demand, emptiness or affective dysregulation. We work both on the compulsion and the meaning that the substance acquires in the psychic economy of the person, thus generating a real possibility of transformation.

This approach goes beyond the control of the substance: it is oriented towards recovering contact with oneself, re-establishing internal limits, and activating psychic and relational resources that allow the change to be sustained. The intensity and continuity of the format favor the break with the routine of consumption and allow the initiation of a process of internal reorganization in a contained, respectful and clinically solvent environment.

It is especially indicated for people who maintain high functioning professionally or socially, but who are experiencing an addictive relationship with cocaine that interferes with their emotional stability, well-being and ability to really connect. It is also useful for those who have tried to quit on their own but have not been able to sustain their use over time.

How can we help you?

Why do an intensive?

Addiction, and cocaine use in particular, is often sustained by dynamics of compulsion, disconnection and emotional overflow that require a more forceful intervention than the weekly format. Intensive treatment can function as a strategic intervention in times of crisis, lack of control or desire for change.

By generating a break with the consumption routine and offering a protected space to think and feel without evasion, the intensive allows working on the psychic factors that feed the addiction and opening the possibility of a new relationship with oneself. It is a complementary tool that can strengthen the commitment to the therapeutic process and facilitate the beginning or consolidation of a more sustained work over time.

🔸 Conditions of intensive treatment.

Before starting any intensive format, it is necessary to perform a minimum of four preparatory sessions, which can be carried out in person in Barcelona or online through an encrypted and secure system. These sessions allow a proper clinical assessment, establish realistic therapeutic goals and prepare the patient for the intensive work.

It is also strongly recommended to continue with a therapeutic process after the intensive, either in our center or with another trusted professional, in order to consolidate the progress achieved and integrate in a sustained manner the changes produced during the intervention.
